Google released Nano Banana Pro (Gemini 3 Pro Image), a new and upgraded version of the popular Nano Banana image model. One of the highlights of this new model is its access to Gemini’s state-of-the-art reasoning and real-world knowledge to visualize information.

I did not expect this new model to come out this soon, especially since the older version was still high on the list of the best image models available. With all the new upgrades, Nano Banana Pro has easily become the ultimate model on the market today.

It’s no surprise that it tops the list of the best image models on LMArena.

I got curious about the upgrades, so I immediately jumped in to explore and run a bunch of experiments. I found some really interesting use cases and cool things that you can do with this new model.

You can try Nano Bnana Pro on Pollo AI by opening either the Txt2Img or Img2Img tabs and setting the image model to “Nano Banana Pro.”

In this guide, here are 5 awesome use cases of Nano Banana Pro that I find very interesting and unique:

  • Turn your photo into a grid and a styled portrait according to a decade
  • Solve handwritten exam papers with notes and doodles
  • It’s got some really good text rendering capability
  • Generate a floor plan of your room
  • It can add food photos to a full-text menu

Let’s get started.

Improved Realism

Perhaps one of the first things that everyone noticed when Nano Banana Pro was released was how much more natural and realistic the portrait photos are. It is incredibly realistic compared to previous generations.

Check out the side-by-side comparison of these two photos generated with Nano Banana and Nano Banana Pro.

The lighting is much more natural, and the small imperfections in the skin texture and hair strands give it a more realistic effect. It doesn’t have that smooth, plastic look anymore. Even the way she poses looks as if she is a real person caught on camera.

Users who take advantage of these image models to create UGC content or virtual influencers are surely going to love this massive improvement.

Will this cause a rise in the fake influencer culture? I guess we will have to wait and see.

Stylized Portraits

Another important improvement I noticed is how much more capable this model is when it comes to retaining the facial features of a person. In the past couple of years, people had to train an image model with their own portrait photos before they could generate AI images with a high level of resemblance to themselves.

This process used to require a handful of your portrait photos from various angles, and the training process could take around 10–20 minutes to complete. It wasn’t cheap either.

Today, Nano Banana Pro is powerful enough to bypass the training process completely and requires only a single portrait photo of yourself as a reference. It captures your likeness almost instantly.

Take a look at this example:

Prompt: Make a 4×4 grid starting with the 1880s. In each section, I should appear styled according to that decade (clothing, hairstyle, accessories). Use colors, background, & film style accordingly.

This model is hilariously good!

What used to be a complicated 30-minute process has now been reduced to merely 30 seconds of waiting. This is so fun and super impressive because it makes personalized images accessible to everyone.

High-Level Text Accuracy

For users who intend to create images with lots of written text on them, you are going to love this new model. It can render text more accurately, and the fonts and design are well integrated into the scene. Usually, models struggle with long sentences, but this one nailed it.

Take the prompt below as an example.

Prompt: Create an image showing the phrase “How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood” made out of wood chucked by a woodchuck

I love how each letter is made out of wood, and all the words are spelled correctly without any weird artifacts. In other models, it would take a couple of tries and even involve inpainting parts of the image just to achieve this level of quality.

This is great if you want to create images for print, magazines, tabloids, storybooks, and product ads where text is crucial.

Another cool use case that you can do is make Nano Banana Pro solve your exam questions on the exam page image. It works even with doodles, diagrams, and all that complex stuff.

Here’s another one:

It even adjusts the font and writing style to match your handwriting, so it blends in perfectly. This is interesting for students who need help checking their work, and it might be scary for teachers.

Adding Images to a Food Menu

If you are a restaurant owner, you need a food menu that is easy to understand, and showing a photo of the dish is super helpful for customers since people eat with their eyes first.

A quick way to add preview images of the food items to a text-only menu is to instruct Nano Banana Pro to analyze the menu and add photos of the food directly onto the page.

Check out this before-and-after example:

Prompt: Add photos of food to this menu to each item of food

I am so impressed with how much better the new menu looks compared to the plain text version. In less than 10 seconds, restaurant owners can upgrade a critical part of their business without having to spend lots of money and effort on a professional photographer.

Take note that you can adjust the aspect ratio and even merge multiple images together. The model is so flexible and controllable.

Impressive Spatial Awareness

I was surprised to see how good Nano Banana Pro is with its spatial awareness. If you feed it a photo of a room and ask it to create an overhead floor plan view, it will give you a detailed floor plan that is so close to the actual design and dimensions. It really understands the depth and placement of objects.

Prompt: Generate an overhead floor plan layout style image of my basement gym

This is something so powerful and could revolutionize the field of interior design and architecture. Imagine if you could simply take a photo of your room with your phone and get a detailed floor plan in seconds.

You could then use the floor plan to take things further and ask Nano Banana Pro to stylize your room by changing the tiles, walls, or even replacing the equipment with something else.

Final Thoughts

Again, I am not surprised that Nano Banana Pro immediately hit the top spot for the best image models in LMArena. It deserves the top position because of how powerful and useful it is compared to the other models.

I am so impressed with the quality of the images. It is also very controllable, and the output is accurate to the prompt. This is by far the most powerful image model available to both regular users and developers.

All the examples I shared in this post are just some of the cool things you can do with Nano Banana Pro. If you go to Reddit, X, or Instagram, you’ll find more cool things that are possible with this new image model.
